End of Summer 2019

Many people may look forward to the end of summer, but here at Discover Alexandria Tours, fall is a highly anticipated time. The weather cools off, the humidity dies down, and pumpkin spice everything. In the meantime, before we bid summer farewell, here’s what we’re up to.

We are offering two different scheduled tours over LABOR DAY weekend: our signature Discover Alexandria tour and Ghosts of Alexandria. Each tour lasts between 75 and 90 minutes. The Discover Alexandria tour is a great way to get to know the area’s history and plot out your remaining time in town. The tour passes by some of Alexandria’s well-known landmarks, museums, and scenic streets. On our Ghosts of Alexandria tour, you will become acquainted with the spooky local legends that make Alexandria such a fascinating place to visit. The bonus is that you can bring your furry friends along for the walk—we are all dog lovers here.

The schedule for Labor Day weekend is:

August 30: 4pm Discover Alexandria, 7pm Ghosts of Alexandria

                              August 31: 4pm Discover Alexandria

                              September 1: 1pm Discover Alexandria

                              September 2: 4pm Discover Alexandria

All scheduled tours leave from the Alexandria Visitor’s Center at 221 King St. We recommend buying your tickets online in advance just in case they sell out.

If none of these times fit into your busy touring calendar, feel free to reach out and inquire about a private tour.  We have four fantastic guides who would be willing to customize something to fit your interests and schedule. Just email discoveralexandria@gmail.com for more information.
